Barcelona dominated the tournament and won the trophy after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 in the final.
Last September, a new edition of the Madrid Football Cup culminated in Alcobendas, Madrid. The sports complex José Caballero witnessed a great final match between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona.
Two groups, each of 6 international teams offered a great football show to all the attendees of the tournament. In the group stage, FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain obtained 13 points out of a possible 15. The big surprise of the tournament was Rayo Vallecano, who impressed with their great squad and the way they played, beating Real Madrid 1-0, who finished third in their group with 10 points, the same points obtained by Juventus.
In the semifinals we had two great matches, FC Barcelona – Rayo Vallecano, where the Catalan team suffered to beat the team from the Spanish capital 1-0. In the other semi-final, Paris Saint-Germain beat Atlético de Madrid on penalties.
The reigning champions, IF Brommapojkarna wanted to endorse their title won in 2019 but could not get past fourth place in the group stage, where they only lost one game but failed to get the necessary points to face the next stage.
