Chelsea FC Announces their participation in the Madid Football Cup U-14, 2023

Chelsea FC will be competing in Madrid For the sixth time on 15th, 16th and 17th of September. The best U-14 teams from all over the world will once again compete against each other, this year for the 2023 title.

The English club was founded in 1905. The first major honor that the club had won was the English Football Champions in 1955. Fifteen years later they won the FA Cup in 1970 for the first time. The Londoners became the third English club to win the FIFA Club World Cup in 2022. Chelsea FC nicknamed as The Blues are the only London club to have won the Champions League and the Club World Cup. The Blues are the fourth most successful club in English Football. Because of all their successes they became the seventh most valuable football club in the world since 2021.

Chelsea FC has been playing in the Madrid Football Cup since 2015. A few of nowadays top players have played in our tournament over the years. Such as Jamal Musiala who is now playing for FC Bayern Munich and the national German squad. Xavier Simons is a player for Chelsea FC, but he is currently on loan at Hull City. Jude Bell is now playing Tottenham Hotspur since January of this year. Harvey Vale this midfielder still plays for Chelsea FC and the national England team. Last year Vale was named Academy player of the year. And Lewis Hall also still plays for Chelsea and the national England team. On November 12th of last year, Hall made his Premier debut against Newcastle United FC.

Chelsea FC has an excellent football academy for age groups Under-9 to Under-23. In 2016 the Academy was awarded Category One status following an independent audit by the Premier League. The players follow a program called the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP), this program was created in 2012 designed to increase the quantity and quality of the English youth players. Through this program players play in elite competition at a young age. The under-19s are competing in the UEFA Youth league, this is a competition for youth players that mirrors the UEFA Champions League group stage. The youth development squad (U-21) is making a name for themselves, in the Premier League 2 Division 1. The team is now holding the place at number 1.  

Last year was the first Madrid Football Cup U-12, where the best academies played against each other. Chelsea FC also participated and they played nerve-wracking matches against other great squads like, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and tournament winner FC Barcelona. This year there will be a second edition of the Cup.

Chelsea FC is the fifth team to announce their participation at the Madrid Football Cup U-14. They will join Paris Saint-Germain, SL Benfica, FK RFS and one of their England rivals Charlton Athletic.
